The Minsterbelles return to league action to face Chorley this Sunday after defeating Leeds United in the FA Women’s National League Cup Determining Round last weekend.

After bouncing back with the win over Leeds thanks to two second half goals, the first from substitute Nikki Brown before full back Jess Heald’s strike City will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in all competitions for the first time this season as they head to Blainscough Park.

York are yet to win on the road this season beginning with a point at Norton & Stockton on the opening weekend before two defeats at Hull and Middlesbrough respectively.

This Sunday’s hosts come into the game on the back of a 3-1 cup win at home against fellow Division One North side Bradford City.

Prior to the break in league action Chorley were building up some consistent results. After beginning the campaign with back-to-back defeats losing 0-4 at home to Barnsley and 4-2 at Middlebrough Chorley have beaten Merseyrail 4-1, their first and only win so far and picked up consecutive draws against Norton & Stockton 2-2 and then a 1-1 draw away at Newcastle United.

The Minsterbelles currently sit two places above Chorley who are ninth and two points worse off. A win for the hosts would see them leap-frog York into mid table but a City win could see them into third place depending on results elsewhere.

If you are travelling to Blainscough Park this weekend to support York here’s all the information you need to know: kick-off is 2pm at Blainscough Park, PR7 5EJ, tickets are £3 for adults and free for U16s.
