Match Preview | Minstermen to travel to Altrincham for late Saturday kick off

The Minstermen play the last of three consecutive away games when we journey to the North West to face Altrincham FC in the Vanarama National League at the J. Davidson Stadium.

In a 5:20pm Saturday kick-off due to the selection of the match for live broadcast on BT Sport 1, City will aim to go one better than Tuesday night where we took a good point on the road against play-off challengers Boreham Wood.

We last met the Robins in 2020 in the National League North play-off semi-final, a campaign that would end in Alty’s promotion to National League North.

Now due to meet for the first time in non-league top step since 2011, we face an Altrincham side that have been defeated in their last three Vanarama National League matches without scoring. Their last outing was a 2-0 home defeat against Barnet on Tuesday night.

Here’s the key information ahead of Saturday’s late kick-off:

A maximum of 56 seats for travelling supporters needing to be seated are available in the family stand. The standing supporters will have the use of the Chequers Away End Stand (which is uncovered). Both seats and standing are accessed via Away Turnstiles 1 to 4.

Ticket prices are as follows:

Adults – £19.00

Concessions – £15.00 (over 65, Students, and NHS Workers*)

Junior – £7.00 (aged 12 to 18 years)

Child £2.00 – (aged Under 12)

*Proof of age and Student and NHS cards could well be requested.Proof of age may be required on entry.

Travel and Car Parking

Places on the Supporters’ Coach from our official travel provider – York Pullman – are available for £20. Pickup is 1:30pm from Memorial Gardens in York City Centre, with Acomb collection 15 minutes later.

By Car: Leave York  via  A1(M)  to  join  M62  and  at  J18  take  slip  road  and  left  lane  to  join  M60 (Manchester  Orbital  South ).  Leave at  J4  and  join  M56   then  leave   at  J6  and  take  A538  Hale  Road  (SP Altrincham  and  Hale ).  Continue on  Hale  Road   past  traffic  lights  then  shortly  TR  onto  Westminster  Road   and  continue  downhill    where  it  becomes  Moss  Lane   to  the  ground  on  the  right .

By Train: The J. Davidson Stadium is around a 15 minute walk from the Altrincham Train Station. Altrincham is accessible via trains from Manchester Piccadilly with a number of services running from York to Piccadilly on the day.

Parking: There is no supporters’ car park at the J. Davidson Stadium but there is plenty of on-street parking available which is permitted except where indicated by yellow lines or traffic cones.
